What is RRR?

RRR is an Indian action epic movie directed by S.S. Rajamouli. The film is set in the 1920s in Delhi and revolves around two real-life freedom fighters, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju, who are on separate missions to fight against the British Empire. The movie features maximalist action choreography, overwhelming stuntwork, and sophisticated computer graphics, which have made it a box-office phenomenon in India and the US.

RRR is a movie that lacks historical context, allowing the creative team to weave in rallying calls of reunification and cathartic violence into a rescue mission. The two leads have bro-mantic chemistry, with their syncopated physicality being viral successes. The movie showcases Rajamouli's penchant for self-mythologizing, with his storytelling elevating his actors to James Cameron-sized proportions.

Despite its success, the movie has received criticism for its Hindu-centric nationalism and characterizations. However, Rajamouli has also been praised for his ability to invent amazing set pieces.

RRR is possibly the most expensive Indian film ever made, with a budget of $72 million. The film has challenged the financial success of Mumbai's Bollywood industry, showcasing the potential of regional cinema to compete on a global scale.

In conclusion, RRR is an action epic movie that has taken the Indian film industry by storm. Its maximalist action choreography, sophisticated computer graphics, and bro-mantic chemistry between its leads have made it a box-office phenomenon. While it has been criticized for its Hindu-centric nationalism, it has also challenged the financial success of Mumbai's Bollywood industry, showcasing the potential of regional cinema to compete on a global scale.

What is PIL(Public Interest Petition)?

A Public Interest Petition (PIL) is a legal instrument that enables citizens to approach the judiciary to seek relief for matters of public interest. It is an innovative legal mechanism that allows members of the public to initiate legal proceedings on behalf of the community. The hallmark of a PIL is that it is not filed for personal gain or private profit but for the larger public good. PILs are used to address a wide range of issues, including environmental degradation, corruption, human rights violations, and consumer protection. PILs have played a significant role in promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance in India's legal system. They have helped in expanding the scope of judicial review and in ensuring access to justice for marginalized communities. PILs have been instrumental in bringing about social and political change in India. However, the PIL mechanism has also been criticized for being misused for personal gains, and for creating unnecessary judicial activism. Nonetheless, PILs remain a powerful tool in the hands of the public to hold the government and other agencies accountable for their actions.

Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in the Telangana High Court against SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film “RRR”, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan. According to the petitioner, the film distorts facts related to Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem.

On March 15, two judges in the court dismissed the PIL, observing that there was nothing to harm the reputation of celebrities Alluri Seetha Ramaraju and Komaram Bheem.

Recently, the Supreme Court has been hearing several Public Interest Litigations (PILs). One such case was filed by a student from West Godavari district who protested the film ‘RRR’ for confusing freedom activist Alluri Seetharama Raju with Komaram Bheem’s history as a British police officer. In order to prevent the release, they have requested the court to reject the Censor Board’s censor certificate and halt the screening of the film until further notice.

Prior to the film’s release, SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’ starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan was challenged in court over its alleged manipulation of rights activists Alluri Sita Ramaraju and Komaram Bheem. Alluri Soumya from West Godavari district filed a petition asking for the film to be delayed and not be given a reading certificate.

Alluri Soumya says that the case is in public interest and the court should stop the release of ‘RRR’ as it is tarnishing the reputation of Alluri Sita Ramaraju and Kambaram Bheem. He also said that Alluri Sita Ramaraju’s story was embellished, making it fake; moreover, Komaram Bheem’s identity was faked in the film; therefore, they believe that the film should not be released.

Produced by DVV Danayya and directed by SS Rajamouli, the film stars NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles, with Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt playing supporting roles. Samuthirakani, Shriya Saran, Ray Stevenson, and Alison Doody also star in various roles.

There have been several controversies surrounding the film ‘RRR’, one of which is the promo featuring a man wearing a skull cap. Siddipet State President and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay opposed this and urged the makers to remove it from the film.

However, the court rejected his appeal and ordered the release of ‘RRR’. As a result, there will be a CJ court that will be in place soon; it will be interesting to see how this article is used.

According to reports, the film will resume shooting on October 22 in Mahabaleshwar. According to the latest updates on the shooting, 1000 fighters have been registered to follow the ‘RRR’s’ events.

The new schedule of ‘RRR’ has started and is winning the hearts of the viewers. Reports suggest that the film will now be shot in two locations – Mahabaleshwar and Gujarat.
